FAQ for activated carbon based odor absorber for home smell

1. What is Home odor?

Home odor removal is necessary beacuse smells develop form various such as tobacco smoke, pets, cooking, moisture, mold and body odors. There odors and vapors are not only in the air but adhere to the walls, ceilings, carbinets and crevices. They also get embedded in the carpet, the furniture, the drapes and clothing, as well as in the bathroom, kitchen and closets.

2. What is VOC at new home?

You know that that new home smell, or the smell of a new car? A lot of us love it, but you may not like that what we're really smelling are VOCs and they can be harmful.

VOCs or Volatile Organic Compounds, are chemical by products in many building supplies and products, treated wood, insulation, carpeting, paints and cabinets all contain VOCs. They will evaporate or off-gas into the air.

The VOCs have been known to cause headaches, dizziness and can ne toxic. New homes have higher level of VOCs. The same goes for renovations. VOC levels will decrease over time due to off-gassing. But how long they off-gas depends on the materials.

Where as VOCs in spray foam will be gone or non-detectable within a few days. But pressed wood cabinets will off-gas for weeks-sometimes. In fact, carbitnets are huge VOC contributiors. There are cabinets usually made from pressed woods, particle board or MDF( Medium density fibreboard). But a lot of it has to do with the number of cabinets in the kitchen, dining room, living room, bed rooms and bathrooms. This is adds up and increases the amounts of VOCs in the air inside your home. You can usually smell VOCs.

3. Paint Odors

The paint has a very strong odor. This odor doesn't go away quickly. It can lingar for a few days. If you have small children in the home or an adult that has a sensitivities to strong smells, you may have a problem. The smell of paint can not be irritating, but it can be hazardous to the health of anyone exposed to it long enough. Rather than avoiding the freshly painted room. It is best to remove the lingering smell as quickly as possible.

4. Odor in your car

5. New car smell

New car smell is the odor that comes from the combination of materials found in new automobiles. Most of the interior of an automobile consists of plastic held together a number of afhesives and sealers. When the car is first manufacturered, these materials are left slightly unstable, and contiune to release VOCs into the air afterward (cf. outgassing). These fumes may also come from phthalates and other plastic-softening chemicals (plasticizers) that evaporate (or outgas) over time.

7. Where to put the odor absorber?

The best location for the carbon bag is 70cm above the floor. Use one small bag per square meter for home renovation. More bags are required if the odor is strong in the special room. It also works well around the house to eliminate musty, smoky, or other unpleasant odors. And put the odor absorber close to the source of odor. You can put the odor absorber into the drawer, sport bag, closets and shoes. 

8. What it the maintance of odor absorber? 

It is important to replace the carbon filter when you feel the odor is back in your room or the place where the carbon filter is applied.

9. Warning

Discontiune to use if there is black powder spilled on carbon bag. Avoid the contact with skin or eyes. If contact occurs, flush eyes or skin with water. Keep out of the reach of children.
