Activated Carbon

What is Activated Carbon?

Also known as activated charcoal, this material is mostly made of pure carbon that has been treated, or activated, at an extremely high temperature. The carbon develops lots of pores in its chemical structure that can absorb a wide range of materials, like a tiny sponge. The resulting porous carbon can then be further treated with materials like silver for bacteriostatic properties. Activated carbon comes in powder, pellet, cloth, and foam form, and is safe to handle with bare skin.

There are as many different types of activated carbon as there are use cases. Please contact Jurassic Carbon if you have a specific chemical or environment in mind and need expert input. We have sold activated carbon for the following contexts:
Yacht waste water filter, aquarium water filter, ingredient of beauty face mask, restaurant fume hood, paint shop ventilation filter, household air filtration, VOC removal for plastics factory, heavy metal treatment for automotive plant, soil treatment by removing metals, human odor disguise for hunting, vodka filtration, raw sugar treatment, mecury removal at a coal plant, tobacco smoke filtering at a casino, and gold capturing at a gold mine.
