Why most face mask are not working for wildfire smoke?

Most of face mask is designed for  sbaorb the dusty. The face mask has air leaking problem as well. Such as N95s, they are not designed to protect against the hazardous gases present in wildfire smoke. Everythins is burning into the air by smoke, sauch as house, car, plastic wire, etc. 

While well-fitted N95 masks are highly effective at filtering out fine particulate matter (PM2.5)—the primary health risk from smoke—they do not block gases like carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, or volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
